Continuing with my DAK tanks, I've added some Panzer IV F1/F2's with modifications I made to the Panzer III J's for barrel swapping.

Panzer III J's
To help grow my DAK army, I've painted up some Panzer III J's. Rather than settle with a specific gun for each model, I made them modular. I was toying with the idea of using magnets, but I thought that the size of magnets needed to keep the barrels in place would be too large. So after thinking about the situation for a while, I came up with a simple solution - pegs.

DAK Marder III (7.62cm)
After looking at my Marders that I painted several years ago and deciding that their paint job didn't do they justice, I stripped them down and repainted them. Since I've been using my DAK army a lot lately, I wanted to add them to my force (since this specific model was used in North Africa). The paint scheme needed to match that period, not to mention my current DAK theme, so Desert Yellow was called upon once more.

DAK Pioneer and HMG platoons
Continuing with my DAK army, I've finished the Pioneers and HMG platoons I needed to help round out my army. It seems that every time I try to use my DAK list, my opponents always seem to be running tank lists. To help beef up the survivability of my 15. Panzerkompanie, I decided I needed some pioneers.

Rommel !!
Erwin Johannes Eugen Rommel, popularly known as the Desert Fox,
was a German field marshal of World War II. He earned the respect of
both his own troops and his enemies.

Schützen Platoon (Afrika)
The Afrika Korps or German Africa Corps was the German expeditionary force in Africa during the North African Campaign of World War II. First sent as a holding force to shore up the Italian defense of their African colonies, the formation fought on in Africa, under various appellations, from March 1941 until its surrender in May 1943. The term "Afrika Korps" is actually pseudo-German, deriving from an incomplete German title, which was in any case written as a single word. The German term referred solely to the initial formation, the Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK), which formed part of the Axis command of the German and Italian forces in North Africa. However, the name stuck, with both news media and Allied soldiers, as the name for all subsequent German units in North Africa. The reputation of the Afrika Korps is closely associated with that of its original commander, Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel.

Captured Honey Stuarts
I've started to construct a DAK army, more specifically the 15. Panzer German Schutzen list from North Africa. Since I wanted to bring Rommel along in this army, I figured he needed some support, so I picked up a Honey Armoured Platoon (BBX25) box set.

Panther/Jagdpanther Swappable Hulls Part 2
Well I finished painting up, decaling, and sealing the tanks. Since pictures wouldn't show you how these work, I made a video detailing how they can be swapped out. Forgive the crappy video skills, my 11 year old was helping me:

Sturm-Infanteriegeschütz 33B
The Sturm-Infanteriegeschütz 33B was a German self-propelled heavy infantry gun used during World War II. A new, fully enclosed, and heavily armored boxy casemate superstructure was built on the chassis of the Sturmgeschütz III. It mounted the improved sIG 33/1 infantry gun, offset to the right side, for which 30 rounds were carried.

Panzer IV/70 Platoon
As of late, I've always steered away from picking this type of platoon in any of my lists due to me not having any of the models. I finally decided to pick up a box of these in hopes of trying them out on the battlefield.

Volksstrum
After several weeks of painting here and there with these guys, I finally finished them. They are now ready to defend Berlin to the bitter end.

Otto Carius in his Jagdtiger
I finished up Carius in his Jagdtiger yesterday. since the sun was out this afternoon, I decided to take some pictures of him and his tank.
This was my first (and second) attempt at hard edge camo.I learned a few things from the first attempt, that I corrected in the subsequent second attempt.

Sd Kfz 251/20D Uhu Painted
I recently completed painting up my UHU's, and you can see the results below. I'm waiting on the decals I ordered from Dom's Decals to arrive in in the mail and once they arrive I'll add some balkenkreuz to them.
More picture inside....

Bruno Koenig and Snipers
I've always wanted to field snipers, but never really had the chance (since I like playing non-infantry lists). But I couldn't turn down the chance to own a few when I recently traded some unwanted bits for the Koenig sniper blister.

Tournament and some Brummbars
I entered a local tournament this past weekend at a local gaming store, and I wasn't aware there was prize support. Well the first game I got my but t handed to me courtesy to 2 tigers and 2 panthers against my Panzer IV H's and pumas. I bounced every shot I fired at them, and just couldn't - as Admiral Ackbar would say - "repel firepower of that magnitude".

Ernst Barkmann's Panther Ausf. A
Wanting to get more warriors for my army, I decided to pick up Barkmann's Panther Ausf. A tank. While I'm not a huge fan of zimmerit, this tank has it on it, and was actually less defined than I originally thought. Now some of you that know me are asking why I would get another Late War warrior when all you do is play Mid War. Well, believe it or not, Barkmann had a long career in the German Army. Based on this, I decided I needed to have him in my arsenal so I could pull him out whenever the need arises.

6-8 Weeks
First off, I"m beginning to hate this term. I wish I could simply return some of the stuff I've purchased in order to order it from a secondary company. But alas, I cannot - and neither can others that have stuff that is simply below par with respect to quality issues with Battlefront products.
